Amitansu was born in the coastal district of Balasore in Odisha, about 194 km from the state capital, Bhubaneswar. He studied mostly in government schools in places like Jaipur, Sambalpur and Balasore. His father Ram Chandra Satpathy was a programme producer in All India Radio, and he was posted in different towns of India. The youngest among three siblings, Amitansu was always a top rank holder at school. His father was his biggest motivator, and when he passed away when he was in Class 12, his world changed. My mother got my father’s government job, so we didn’t face too much of a financial crunch, and we managed well as I was getting scholarships from Class 7 onwards. But my father’s death made me grow beyond my age and I began to focus more on my studies.
I scored 90% in my Class 12 board exam in 1986 which was an excellent score then. I got admission in NIT Kurukshetra, and pursued B Tech in Electrical with Computers as my specialisation. He pursued his engineering during which time he had limited expenses. His teachers helped him with the best books, and he also made use of the library books for reference. At the campus placement, he got a job at Calcom Electronics, manufacturers of various TV brands, for a monthly salary of Rs 5,000. The company took care of his stay and provided him a scooter for commuting.

The initial years were the toughest moment of cash flow struggles, maintaining profitability and maintain operating expenses. Due to lack of investments opportunities and financial constraints BPE lost lots of large projects. New brand product acceptance in the market was some of our major initial challenges. In the year 1993 his exposure started with UPS and power industry thus helping International companies to set up their operations in Indian market. He therefore gained in-depth understanding of International alliances, technical, sales & operations. He was also one of the front runners who worked with UPS industry which was at a high growth stage at that time. He was not enamoured by software boom but had far sightedness on the longevity of the industry thus thought of setting up his business in the space. After gaining experience in UPS industry.
After 8 years of work experience, Amitansu started his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 29 it was time when Amitansu was working with an International company which was a JV with an Indian conglomerate. The company was on the verge of breaking up and the employees had started feeling insecure and were looking for jobs, Amitansu decided to turn his dreams into reality and then formed Best Power Equipment’s in the year 2000 in Noida. The company has strategically expanded, by providing power solutions for IT, Industrial & Critical equipment, telecom, data centres & electro-medical gadgets., not only in India but at Singapore, Malaysia and other countries. BPE manufactures at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Noida. The product range includes Line Interactive UPS, Single Phase Online UPS, Three Phase Online UPS, Rack Mount UPS and others
The fresh funds helped the company build financial acumen, build its import-export network. I also set up a manufacturing unit in Noida and began making the UPS and inverter products myself.
Our product offerings include Line Interactive UPS, Single Phase Online UPS, Three Phase Online UPS, Modular/Rack Mount UPS, String Grid-Tied PV Inverter, and Central Grid-Tied PV Inverter. We also make Intelligent PV Combiner Box, DC Power Distribution Cabinet, Monitoring System, Energy Storage Systems (single-phase and three-phase), solar deep cycle storage battery and complete power solutions, including data centres.
BPE diversified into different product categories as per the need of the market. We started manufacturing for various industries such as banks, industrial establishments, telecom, etc. This helped in business growth. We focussed on large quantities of business orders, and prioritised OEMs and third-party labelling. In the first 10 years, we invested in infrastructure to cater to the large needs of various customers. BPE has also spread to different domestic and international markets. Today, we are present in Singapore, Malaysia, Nepal, Bangladesh, Philippines, UAE, Kenya, Africa, and Turkey.

We wish to align ourselves to 4.0 technology, which is enabling faster, more flexible and more efficient processes to produce higher-quality goods at reduced costs. We have seen that India did not grab opportunities in industry Our future objective is to be the leading manufacturer in the industry, with innovation and adapting the market change like inclusion of IoT& 5G is our key product strategy. The end user experience will be taken up to 100% satisfaction level. Regarding the product portfolio, we have recently expanded our offering to Singapore, Philippines, UAE,Middle East and many more markets and are planning to expand BPE products’ reach to all over the world by the end of 2025.
